Now we've created muesli that is just as scrumptious and nourishing but without the gluten. Try it as a hot or cold cereal or, in the Swiss style, soaked overnight in milk or yogurt.

Swiss physicians Dr. Maximilian Bircher-Benner was really on to something special when, in the late 1800's, he invented muesli for his patients. He was ahead of his time in understanding that food is the best medicine, but he also knew that it simply wouldn't be eaten if it wasn't delicious. With those facts firmly in mind, he created an irresistible but healthy mélange of grain, fruit and nuts that his patients devoured joyfully on their way to wellness.

Despite the supremacy of eating muesli for breakfast, the nearly 10% of us that need or choose to avoid gluten have been left out — until now. In the spirit of Dr. Bircher-Benner's mission of health and my own love of healing with whole grains, I've created a terrific blend of healthy and tasty, gluten free ingredients - verified by testing - that you'll devour joyfully, too. It makes a great hot porridge or ready-to-eat cold cereal. You can also try it the traditional Swiss way (how I love it best) and soak it in the fridge overnight in milk or yogurt. Then, grate half an apple to top it off.

Enjoying Muesli

Muesli is a very versatile breakfast cereal. You can eat it in just minutes topped with your favorite milk or creamy beverage, cooked as a steamy bowl of soothing porridge, or soaked overnight in the Swiss style.

Hot Cereal Instructions:

Add ½ cup Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free Muesli to 1 cup water or milk and bring to a boil. Simmer for 3 to 5 minutes. You can also microwave in a large bowl on high for 3 to 5 minutes stirring once during cooking. Makes 2 servings.

Cold Cereal Instructions:

Soak ¼ cup Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free Muesli in ¼ to ½ cup yogurt, milk or fruit juice for 5 to 10 minutes (or overnight like the Swiss do) and enjoy! Makes 1 serving.
