Lotus Nelumbo nucifera is the esteemed Asian water lily. It grows in shallow ponds. Ancients observed the roots' symmetrical pattern resembling lungs and attributed an affinity with their energy. Lotus Root Tea is called "kohren" in Japan.
How It Is Made
Lotus root is hand harvested in winter when energy is strongest in it. They are washed, sun dried, ground, and five percent ginger powder is added.
Lotus root contains nelumbine and asparagine which support respiratory, circulatory, and digestive health. Ginger enhances effectiveness and flavor.
How to Use
Boil 1 cup water, 1 teaspoon lotus tea, and a few grains of sea salt. Simmer 2 to 3 minutes. Drink hot. 18 servings per jar.
