Organic Green Leaf Tea - fresh and fruity
Darjeeling, up in the hills of the Himalayas, is often shrouded in mist, and I think that contributes to the almost mysterious swirl of flavours you can expect from my Green tea. One sip is grassy and fresh, the next is sweet and flowery.
A true voyage of discovery in a cup.
For this Green tea we had pick only two tender leaves and a bud, which we then lightly steam and dry. So, gentle on the leaf, gentle on the environment, and because it’s so high in antioxidants, gentle on you too.
Rajah, my friend who owns the Makaibari Estate where this tea comes from, lives by this simple mantra: “the better the soil, the better the taste”. And in this spirit he created the world’s first organic biodynamic tea garden, where the tea pickers, wildlife and tea bushes all live in harmony with each other in an environment free of chemical pesticides.
Demeter Organic Biodynamic certification is regarded as the highest grade or organic farming in the world and reflects a commitment to biodiversity, soil husbandry, livestock integration and the prohibition of genetically engineered organisms.
To enjoy my Green tea, infuse one level teaspoon per cup in freshly boiled water for 3 minutes.
