Eden Organic Kukicha Twig Tea is made from three Autumn and Winter clippings of the tea plant, Camellia sinensis. The first occurs when the plant is a minimum of three years old. Twice per year thereafter thin twigs and stems are clipped, and every ten years thick twigs are clipped. The twigs are separately steamed, sun dried for one week, aged for two to three years, then roasted in gas fired cast iron rotating ovens to develop its distinctive smoky flavor and aroma. Kukicha is soothing and calming. It's very low caffeine level, 90% less than coffee, make it an ideal tea for both children and adults. Contains no artificial coloring, additives, or chemicals.
Place 2 Tablespoons twigs in 5 cups water, bring to a boil, and simmer 3 to 5 minutes. Mixed with half Eden Organic Apple Juice makes a perfect beverage for children. The twigs can be reused to make another milder pot of tea.
