Bob's Red Mill Double Action Baking Powder releases carbon dioxide when exposed to moisture and heat, causing doughs and batters to rise. It is all natural and contains no aluminum. Baking powder is perishable and should be kept cool and dry.
Bob's Red Mill products labeled Gluten Free are batch tested in our quality control laboratory. We use an ELISA Gluten Assay test to determine that a product is gluten free.
Preheat oven to 400ºF.
In a small bowl, stir together buttermilk and oil. In a medium bowl, combine flour, salt and baking powder. Gradually add the milk mixture to the flour mixture, combine until well blended. Shape into a ball, place on a floured surface and knead 4 or 5 times. Roll dough out flat, with a cookie cutter, cut out biscuits. Place 1 inch apart on a baking sheet. Bake on rack in center of oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until light brown. Serve with butter and jam.
