Coconut Flour is made from ground coconut fruit meat after the oil has been removed. It is naturally sweet, as it contains natural sugars and is high in fiber.
Baking: If using as a 1:1 substitute in baking recipes for wheat flour, please add one egg for each ounce of coconut flour used and you may need to increase the liquids because of the fiber content. Coconut flour may be substituted for up to 20% of standard wheat flour with no noticeable difference in flavor or texture.
Cooking: Coconut Flour is a delicious dusting for fish, poultry or meat substitutes. Dip the protein pieces in beaten egg wash (or egg substitute) and coat well with coconut flour. Can be baked or fried.
