Mayan tradition held that a bride and groom should sip cacao from a golden goblet to secure their vows. To celebrate these ancient practices we present our Xocolatl Drinking Chocolate (pronounced "Choco-la'tl") made from cacao powder, bits of pure, dark chocolate and a hint of ground chili and cinnamon. We encourage you to savor this drink in the spirit of ceremonies long past.
We recommend slowly heating one cup of milk or milk alternative on the stovetop while stirring continually until hot. When vapors rise the milk will be at its most receptive to accept chocolate into its embrace. Whisk in 4 tablespoons of our authentic drinking chocolate and pour into your favorite mug.
